Annie was born October 23, 1856, a daughter of Emanuel and Elizabeth Rice Drayher of the upper Middletown Valley near Wolfsville.

After the birth of three children, Anna "Annie" Naomi, Manassas and Noah Drayher, Emanuel took sick and died at a young age.

Annie went to live with her paternal grand parents, Andrew and Christiana Drayher and the family moved across the mountain to Mechanicstown (Thurmont).

Annie married Josiah Betts, whom died at the young age of 44, and raised a family of three daughters and two sons, Virgie Virginia Warrenfeltz and husband Marshall Henry, Myrtle Irene Koogle and husband Edward Luther, Grace E. Merritt and husband Howard and Floyd Earl Betts, and Gorman B. Betts.

Annie's half-sisters and brother were, John Wesley Wilson, Mary Jane Recher, Amanda Ellen Swope Warner, Emma Sophia Brunner.

In Josiah Betts obituary it says Annie was a Miss Wilson, Annie was the daughter of Emanuel Drayher, not John Wilson. John Wilson was her step-father.
