A February 5, 1892 applications lists her as the daughter of Anna Maria Bowie Brookes lists her as the daughter of Benjamin Brookes and Margret Sprigg Bowie. She was married to Philemon Chew and they were the parents of Richard B.B. Chew. An October 15, 1938 applications lists her as Annie Bowie, daughter of William Bowie and Margaret Sprigg. She was married to Philemon Lloyd Chew and they were the parents of Henry Chew.

Her birth name may be Ann, but Annie is the name engraved upon her stone. Date of birth and places of birth and death from contributor, HeideFamily82. Contributor states year of death is 1827, but stone states 1831. Her obituary in The Daily National Intelligencer, July 7, 1827 states she died on June 20, 1827 in Herring Bay, (Anne Arundel County), Maryland.
