1918, France: This is the grave (see all photos) of my Great Uncle, Benton Robertson, in France. He died of pneumonia during WWI there.

from THE WARRICK COUNTY GOLD STAR HONOR ROLL FROM WORLD WAR I 1914-1918:
ROBERTSON, BENTON, SON OF BRADFORD & MARIA, OF NEWBURGH. HE WAS A MOTORMAN BY TRADE. ENTERED THE MILITARY JUNE 1918, SENT OVERSEAS AND DIED 3 MONTHS LATER OF BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA. HE WAS BURIED IN MENEZTERAL, FRANCE.

January 16, 1921: his body was returned from France and re-interred at Bates Hill Cemetery. See photo of Bates Hill Record Book with notes and detail.
