Mr. Harries was born December 27, 1922 the son of the late Alvenia Sievers Harries and the late Henry Harries in Mason City, Illinois. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII and worked for 38 years at Northern National Gas Company as a foreman in Spencer, Iowa and later worked at Rowan Regional Medical Center as a Security Guard and at Lyerly Funeral Home as a greeter. Bill was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his wife Leona Colby Harries on January 4, 1986; daughter Deborah Harries and a granddaughter Jessica Ann Harries.
