Melvin Earl Brady, age 70, died April 20, 1992, in a local hospital, of heart failure.

Born November 3, 1921, in Fairview, Utah, to Sidney A. and Della Hurst Brady.

Attended Snow College.

Served in the Navy Seabees in the Pacific in World War II.

He married Diane Parkinson, Nov. 18, 1950, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death, July, 1967.

He married Gaya Schow, Feb. 14, 1974, Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Worked as a general contractor, construction superintendent and carpenter.

The many fine homes that he built are an enduring legacy of his craftsmanship.

Active member of the LDS Church, where he served faithfully in many callings, including service as ward clerk for 11 years.

Loved sports and the outdoors, and he wrote extensively.

Survived by his wife Gaya, Salt Lake City; a son, Melvin ``Mark'' (and Susan); three daughters, Michele (and Scott) MacDonald, Marilee Grier and Melinda (and John) Emmett; a stepson, Gary (and Julia) Xanthos; two stepdaughters, Nisa Xanthos and LeeAnnna (and Randy) McQueen; 16 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; also a stepmother, Cleo Brady; a mother-in-law, Corine Schow; two brothers, Morris and Clifton Brady; and five sisters, Leota Winkler, Zelda Winkler, Marietta Coates, Evelyn Beck and Dovell Bebe.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 24, 12 noon, in the Mt. Olympus 7th Ward, 4407 So. Fortuna Way (3650 East).

Friends may call Thursday, from 7-9 p.m., Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church Friday for one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
