Benoni Hoskins was the son of Anthony and Mary (Gillett) Hoskins. He was the husband of Mehitable (Church) Hoskins. They were married May 1, 1766. Mehitable died May 2, 1823. Benoni served during the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. He fought in the battle of Bennington in 1777.
