Floyd – Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Grace Methodist Church in Floyd, for George Dewey Baker, 66, a resident of Floyd for the past 28 years. He died suddenly Wednesday at his home in Floyd. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd, with the Grossman-Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, in charge.
Born in Orchard, May 13, 1898, he was the son of William and Hattie Cole Baker. On April 6, 1929, he was married to Abbie Maurer at Cresco. He was a retired tiler and farmer.
Survivors include his wife, a brother, Dorland Baker, Osage; and a sister; Mrs. Dennis Balsley, Orchard.
