SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Jack H. Allen, Sr., 71, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Charles Glorioso of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Shreveport Fire Department Chaplain, Durell Tuberville. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens North, Blanchard, LA.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel with a Vigil following at 7 p.m.
Jack H. Allen, Sr. was born August 11, 1929 in Pollock, LA. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 in radio communications. A resident of Shreveport, LA since 1952, he dedicated 27 years to the Shreveport Fire Department retiring in 1979 as a Fire Captain at Station #3. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and playing music.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 49 years, Myrtle Thompson Allen; daughter, Debbie Bryson and husband, Vic of Sparks, MD; sons, Jack H. Allen, Jr. and wife, Renee' of Tyler, TX, Mitch Allen and wife, Vicki of Bossier City, LA and Tim Allen and wife, Debbie of Beebe, AR; brother, Earl Allen of Delhi, LA; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be George Carney, Charles Dockery, Charles Fredieu, Margene McCoy, Ralph E. Parker and Kenneth Taylor. S.J. Zagone will serve as honorary pallbearer.
