Services for Vernon Loyd Hight, 82, Fruit Hill Red Bridge Road, will be at 2 pm Sunday at Judges Chapel General Church, with the Rev. Larry Shadowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Lamb Funeral Home.
He died at 6:30 am Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Christian County, he was born April 17, 1920. He was the son of the late Clifton Leo and Girthie Lezora Crick Hight and was a farmer and a bus driver for 28 1/2 years for Christian County public schools. He was a member of Judges Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Hight; a son, Lloyd Hight, Christian County; a brother, James M Hight, Christian County; two sisters, Beatrice Allen and Nola Louise Lee, both of Christian County; and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
