Edward A Ganz, son of Max and Ernestine Ganz, was born April 9, 1923 in Swanville, MN. He was baptized on June 17, 1923, confirmed on June 27, 1937 at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. Ed attended school in Little Falls and lived there until entering the U.S. Army in 1942. After his discharge, he lived in the Minneapolis area working for Donovan Construction doing line work. On September 22, 1951, he was united in marriage to Wanda Sipe in Rockford, IL. In 1953, they moved to a farm in the McGrath area. Ed worked for a few years with North Pine Electric before farming full time. They moved to Mora in 1998. Due to Alzheimer's, Ed entered the Minnesota State Veterans Home in 2001; before that he lived at the VA in St. Cloud. He was a very hard worker. He enjoyed traveling the back roads and loved horses.
He was preceded by his parents, 2 brothers: Roy, Donald; 4 sisters: Hilda Kvamlov, Mildred Holte, Esther Lollie, Annette Thomsen.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; 1 son, Jay (Denise) of Isle; 3 daughters: Sherranne (David) Berg of McGrath, Beverly (Doug) Herre of Monticello, Tammy (Kenneth) Hiller of East Bethel; 11 grandchildren; 7 brothers: Irvin (Laurel) Ganz of Maple Plain, Elmer (Kathy) Ganz of Hudson, WI, Jorgen (Gloriette) Ganz of WI, Max Jr. of Big Fork, MT, William (Luetta) Ganz of Verndale, MN, Dale (Audrey) of Brook Park, Robert (Norma) Ganz of Brook Park, 3 sisters: Betty Bittner of Princeton, Ellen (Dick) McGuire of Waterville, Ernestine (John) Walters of McGrath.
