Janet Rose Adkins, 75, Excelsior Springs MO, passed away Tuesday, November 10 2009 at her home. Funeral Services will be at 11am Monday, November 16 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Excelsior Springs. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Excelsior Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10-11 Monday at the church. She will lie in state for friends to call anytime after noon on Sunday at the Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
Jan was born on July 29 1934 in Ray County MO, the daughter of Francis and Gladys (Chittick) Williams. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs and Beta-Sigma-Phi.
She worked in Accounts Receivable at the Excelsior Springs Hospital.
Survivors include daughter Lisa Foster and husband Larry of Excelsior Springs, brother F.L. Williams of Excelsior Springs, grandchildren: Laura, Kevin, and Rachel Foster all of Excelsior Springs, nephew Scott Williams of Kearney, niece Candy Teegarden of Excelsior Springs, and many friends and co-workers.
Besides her parents, Jan was preceded in death by a granddaughter Sara Elizabeth Foster.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation for the Fine Arts Department.
