Joe was born on June 4, 1931 in Greenville Ohio the son of Leroy and Martha (Melford) Anthony.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a truck driver and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and working on his equipment.
Survivors include son Rick Anthony of Independence MO, 3 daughters: Willa Carroll of Excelsior Springs MO, Brenda Bennett of Kearney, and Julie Wilson of Polo MO, sister Mary Lou Troutman of Excelsior Springs, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
