Ireton, IA, - Funeral services for George Thomas Brown, 89, a resident of Sioux County since 1887, were held at the Ireton Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Brown died at his home Saturday, May 26, 1956.

Rev. H. G. Eggink, former pastor of the church now residing at Storm Lake, and Rev. O. J. Snuttjer, present pastor, were in charge of services. Interment was at Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of the Satterlee Funeral home.

Pallbearers were Bernard Grau, Dwayne Grau, Marvin Schmidt, Elwood Grau, Fred Embrock and Gordon Wangen.

Mr. Brown was born in Butler county, PA., on July 5, 1866, and came to this vicinity at the age of 21. He married the former Miss Mary Dodd on August 17, 1887. She died November 9, 1931. The Browns farmed near Ireton until 1916 when they moved to town.

Survivors include a son Harry of Delhi, MN.; four daughters, Grace at home, Mrs. Ora Grau of Ireton, Mrs. Delbert Day of Hawarden and Mrs. Spencer Plumb of Campaign, IL.; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
