MOTHER OF CITY MAN DIES
Mrs. Nettie Blake Allen of Oklahoma City passed away in an Oklahoma City Hospital last Friday, after a two months illness. Mrs. Allen will be remembered as Mrs. J. M. Blake, mother of Roger T. Blake, local businessman.
Mrs. Allen was a Pauls Valley resident for 30 years until she left here in 1936, following the death of her first husband, J. M. Blake.
Mrs. Allen, who would have soon been 74 years old, came to Pauls Valley from Missouri in 1912 with her first husband J. M. Blake, and their family, and Mr. Blake was a city mail carrier for many years. After the death of Mr. Blake, she left Pauls Valley and resided subsequently in California, El Reno, Oklahoma, and more recently in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allen were held in the Smith and Kernke Funeral chapel in Oklahoma City last Monday morning and the body was brought to Pauls Valley for interment beside her first husband. Brief committal services at Mt. Olivet cemetery were conducted by Dr. W. T. Reynolds of the First Presbyterian church.
