Services for Gladys J. Lightfoot, 77, Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Athens, with the Rev. Bill Watson officiating.Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lightfoot died Nov. 7, 2009, at home.

She was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Crowley, to the late John B. and Minnie Ellen Pruitt Everitt.

Gladys moved to Athens in 1966 and was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught childrens Sunday School and was a volunteer in the Clothes Closet Ministry. She also did volunteer work with Henderson County Food Pantry.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Bill R. Lightfoot in 2008.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon Lightfoot; Sue Cooper and husband Ron; Angie Hope and husband Chris, all of Athens; Charlotte Heifner and husband Tim, of Brownsboro; sisters, Lucille Mann; Haddie Curry; Bertha Mahaffey; all of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Don Mikeworth; Stacey Lightfoot; Amber Craig; Brandi Craig; Anthony Heifner; Rachael Cooper; great-grandchildren, Donny, Joseph and Meagan Mikeworth, Keaton Cowen and Paisley Stockard.


Pallbearers will be Bruce Rasco, Tony Douglas, Richard Dooling, Dr. Bob Foster, Dr. G. M. Fulgham and Dr. Hal Florence.Honorary pallbearers will be the Esther Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, James Pogue, C. W. Tidmore and Eddie Lassiter.
