Sistersville, W Va, Aug 27. - Lying in the fair grounds at Middlebourne, this county, the remains of Thomas E Engle, an attorney, were found yesterday afternoon shot through the heart. A revolver by his side indicates suicide.
Engle was a candidate for the Republican nomination for prosecuting attorney three years ago and was defeated in a close fight. His mind became unbalanced from the use of opiates and he was confined in a Marietta sanitarium, and was also kept in jail for a few weeks. Upon being released he learned of intentions to send him to an insane asylum and last Thursday he stole away from home.
He was 35 years of age and leaves a widow and two children.
