Donald Franklin Maddux, age 87, a former resident of Daphne and Fairhope, passed away Tuesday at his daughter's home in Tampa,FL .
He was born on June 15, 1922 in Richmond, Missouri, to Julius Franklin Maddux and Bessie Armetha (Hendrix) Maddux.

He was a farmer in the Richmond area before moving first to Brooksville, Florida then later to Opp, Alabama in 1976. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Pauline Schofield of Richmond in 1982 and by his second wife of 25 years Judy Ayers of Opp, AL, in March of this year.

He is survived by six children: Carolyn Luthi of Clarksville, GA; Pattie Cafaro of Tampa, FL; Evelyn Smith of Tallahassee,FL; Kay Robertson of Daphne, AL; David Maddux of Foley, AL; and Danny Ayers of Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church,Opp, Al at 1:00 on Friday October 23, 2009 with interment at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp.
