John and Minnie seemed to have been estranged at the very least. Her death certificate says she was a widow but John R Lee died after her in 1934. The 1920 census shows John R. was living with his son Bertram Lee (from his 1st marriage) in Indiana and he’s listed as a widower. In 1930 census, Minnie was living with her and John's daughter Naomi Blancsett (wife of J.W. or John William Blanscet who was the informant for her death cert) in Texas while John R was still living with Bert and she is listed as a widow.
A family tree chart says she “ran away with a preacher,” which must have been some time between 1920-1930 and didn’t appear to work out. Perhaps the preacher had the surname Fitzgerald?
