Helen M. Pollock, 46, died this morning, January 3, 1968, at the Virginia Gay hospital in Vinton following a lingering illness.

Helen Margaret Byam was born Sept. 16, 1921, at Elberon, a daughter of the late Leon Byam and Mrs. Ruth Avery Britt. On Sept. 15, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ivan M. Pollock at the United Brethren church in Vinton.

Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Rex Ivan, at home; one daughter, Mrs.Ron (Carolyn Kaye) Buch of Keystone; two grandchildren; her mother of Vinton; four brothers, Leroy Byam of Cedar Rapids, Lloyd and Ronald Byam of Vinton and Earl Byam of Independence; and one sister, Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Smalley of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Harold and Ralph.

Mrs. Pollock was a member of the Presbyterian church at Vinton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., in the Campbell funeral home at Vinton, with Rev. Robert Tull officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
