Rites Scheduled for Blaine Hall Pioneer Resident
Blaine Hall, a well-known retired farmer, rancher and business man and a pioneer settler of Carnegie died at noon Tuesday after a long illness in the Good Samaritan Nursing home in Hobart.
He had been a resident of the home for about two years and had resided in a Mountain View home a year prior to moving to Hobart. He had been seriously ill the past six months.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carnegie Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Becker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.
Born February 16, 1883 at Kellerton, Iowa, Earnest Blaine Hall moved with his parents to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they remained a short time then in 1901 moved to a farm southeast of Carnegie before the townsite was established. Fort Cobb was their trading post at that time.
He was married October 1, 1910, to Mary Belle Hall. Three children were born to them, one daughter, Virginia, died in infancy. They resided on the farm until 1928 when they moved into Carnegie. Mrs. Hall preceded him in death July 13, 1960.
Hall, after moving to town opened and managed the Farmers Co-op Oil Co., and later the Farmers Co-op Cotton Gin. He also was engaged in farming and cattle raising until retiring.
He was a member of the Methodist church and of the Masonic lodge of Fort Cobb.
He is survived by one son, Clifford of Carnegie; one daughter, Doris Hall Barney of Crockett, Texas; their grandchildren, Myrna Hall Cline of Hobart, Peg and Max Barney of Crockett; three great grandchildren, Cam, Craig and Crissy Cline of Hobart; three sisters, Pearl Burns, Edmond, Madge Smith of Oklahoma City, and Grace Allen of Kellerton, Iowa. One sister, Mrs. Fern Van Drill preceded him in death in 1959.
