TUCKER, GA -- Robert Edward Fincher of Tucker, GA, died at Crawford W. Long Hospital, Atlanta, on Sunday, Feb 28, 1993.

Mr. Fincher worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company as construction foreman for 43 years, retiring on Feb 14, 1980. He was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church and served as a deacon of Inman Park Baptist Church and Glenwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lura Bailey Fincher of Tucker; two sisters, Mrs. Essie Young of Atlanta and Mrs. Renice Spratlin of Eva, AL; two brothers, Clint Fincher of Woodland and LeRoy Fincher of Warner Robins, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Mar 2, at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home-Chapel, with Rev Doug Silvey, Rev Milton Kerr, and Rev Doug Wilson officiating. Interment was at Providence Baptist Church, Woodland, at 3 p.m.

A. S. Turner and Sons of Decatur, GA, was in charge of funeral arrangements in Georgia, with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of the local arrangements.
