W. D. ROOKER DEAD
Passed Away Thursday Night
Mr. W. D. Rooker died last Thursday night at 10 o'clock after a brief illness.
Mr. Rooker had been in bad health for some time but had not been confined to his bed and his death was entirely unexpected. He went about his duties as usual on Wednesday and met the morning train Thursday, but shortly afterward became too ill to sit up and wnt to bed. He grew rapidly worse until 10 o'clock that night when he passed away.
Mr. Rooker was fifty eight years of age and most of his life was spent in and around Resaca, from which place he moved to Calhoun some months since to enter the hotel business.
He is survived by his wife and four children and had numbers of friends all over the county who deeply sympathize with the grief-stricken family in their sad bereavement.
The funeral service was conducted by rev. G. D. Stone at the Hotel Rooker Saturday morning and the remains were taken to Resaca for interment.
the hotel business will be continued under the management of Mrs. Rooker.
