Henry George Allgeier II, Lincoln Bank Officer, Dies

Henry G. Allgeier, 56, assistant cashier of Lincoln National Bank and Trust Company, was found dead about 2 p.m., yesterday, August 23, 1954 in his home at 2320 North Anthony Boulevard.
Mr. Allgeier apparently suffered a heart attack and died about 5 p.m., Monday. His death was unexpected as he had not been ill. Relatives went to his home yesterday when bank officials, reported that Mr. Allgeier had not reported for work yesterday morning.
Mr. Allgeier has worked for the bank 40 years. He was one of the oldest employees in point of service with the bank. He started work as a teller. He was assistant cashier for about the last 10 years.
He was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended St. Mary’s School. Mr. Allgeier was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society, Fort Wayne Lodge 451, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary’s Alumini organization, the American Institute of Bankers and Post 82, American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I in which he served as a finance officer.
His wife, Marie, preceded him in death in 1949. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Anne (Joseph) Voors Jr., and Katherine Marie (Thomas) Ankenbruck, both of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Sr. M. Bernadette, Chesterton, Indiana, Sr. M. Gregory of Detroit, Michigan, Sr. M. DeLasalle of Appleton, Wisconsin and Mrs. Agnes McCuan of Roseburge, Oregon; four brothers, The V. Rev. Magr. J. Nicholas Allgeier, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne; Brother Gabriel Thomas, teacher at West Philadelphia High School in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brother Edward John, bursar at LaSalle College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brother Dacius Sebastian of Amendale, Maryland and Alphonse Allgeier of Fort Wayne, Indiana and six grandchildren, Kathy Ann, Joseph and Michael Voors of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Margaret, David and John Ankenbruck of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Services Friday, friends may call after 7:30 p.m. today at Getz & Cahill Funeral Home. Members of Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus will meet jointly at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for recitation of the Rosary. Services wil be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home and 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Msgr. J. Nicholas Allgeier will celebrate a solemn requiem high mass. Assisting will be the Rev. Joseph Jacobs as deacon, the Rev. William Voors as sub-deacon and the Rev. Dennihan as master of ceremonies. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
