William, his wife Mary Elizabeth and three children migrated to Kansas in 1879. They established a homestead on 160 acres located about two miles north and three/fourth mile east of Norwich. Allen Township, Kingman County.
PIONEER OF KANSAS: Certificate issued 32 May 1995 by Kansas State Archivist and President, Kansas Coucil of Genealogical Societies; to wit " This is to certify that William Raup was a Kansas Pioneer who came to or was born in Kansas in 1879 and who settled in Kingman county. This certificate is issued to honor those who have assisted in making Kansas a Great State. This is issued to Robert Allen Raup, a direct descendant to the above named pioneer, who has proven the person named was indeed a Pioneer of Kansas. The result of this being the preservation of the history of the State of Kansas."
