Theresa F. Young ,88, passed away peacefully on Monday November 2,2009,due to complications from an extened illness at UC Davis Medical Center.
Theresa graduated from University of Arizona with a Master Degree. She then started her 35 year teaching career at which she retired in 1984 from Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District as a 1st grade and special reading teacher at Bransford Elementary,after 25 years of loyal service.Theresa was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and California Retired Teachers Association.Theresa and her husband Wilson, were inseparable, they enjoyed seeing the world by taking extended European trips.Theresa spent the later years of her life participating in various classes at the Fairfield-Suisun Senior Center, along with her weekly social gatherings with good friends.Theresa recently traveled to Europe last Spring, and this past September to attened a gathering of Hummel enthusiasts in New York. She was born October 31,1921 to Arthur and Ruth Van Houten of Grand Rapids Michigan. She is survived by a sister Arlene Stastny of Payson Arizona, 2 sons, John of Trion Oklahoma and Wayne of Farifield and 3 grandchildren David, Jared, and Michael of Fairfield and1 great grandson Michael Campbell of Trion Oklahoma.
