"Graveside services for Alcus Laverne Boone Jr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Rosehill Cemetery.
Mr. Boone, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at his residence in Scott, La. He was born in Lincoln County on April 21, 1919 to Alcus Sr. and Lois Sartin Boone.
He was a former business partner in R.B. Wall Oil Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Marguerite Boone Cohen.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Margaret T. Boone of Brookhaven; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Brian Smith of Lafayette, La; a grandson, Trace Smith of Lafayette, La; and a granddaughter, Lacey Smith of Lafayette, La.
Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
