After a residence In Macon county of three score years and ten, more years than constitute the span of life for
most people, Cornelius Morris passed away shortly after 5 o'clock Monday evening at the family residence, 526 East William street. Mr. Morris was born in Ohio nearly
eighty-three years ago. Seventy years ago, when about 13 years old, he came, to Macon county and has made this his
home ever since. The family has resided on East William street for many years. Mr. Morris had been failing for the
past few years and his death was not unexpected. His trouble was a general breaking down of the system, due to
old age. He Is survived by his wife, three sons and four daughters. The children are Thomas,Elmer and George Morris, all of whom live near Elwin, Mrs. C.W.Frew?, Mrs. E.W. Barkman and Mrs. Samuel Jameson, all of Decatur and Mrs. Leonard Light of Champaign. The funeral of Mr. Morris will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from Salem church, southwest of Decatur. The cortege will leave the residence at noon. Interment will be at Salem cemetery.
