Stanley was an said to be an electrician, but he actually was a cable splicer for Zenith Telephone in Duluth. In 1908 the telephone lines were above the electric lines. Stanley was standing on a suspended platform at 15th Avenue East and the alley at First Street when, according to family, someone threw up a coil of wire which came loose, hit the power line and shocked Stanley with 2300 volts. Stanley fell to the alley below, causing head injuries. The electrical workers union no. 31 was in charge of the funeral and planned to attend.
