Margery Dorothy Unger died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at McCook Community Hospital. She was 92 years old.

Marjery was born Dec. 28, 1912, at Hays, Kan., to Adam and Dora (Bissing) Bahl. The family moved to McCook in 1919 where Margery attended St. Patrick's Catholic School. She graduated from McCook High School in 1931 and attended McCook College.

On Aug. 31, 1944, she married Al Unger in Portland, Ore. They made their home in McCook where they were owner/operators of Al's Army Store for over 27 years. They retired in 1983.

Margery was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar Society and past member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed gardening and being a homemaker in her free time.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Adam and Dora Bahl; a son, Matthew Unger, in infancy; four brothers, Edmond "Eddie" Bahl, Robert "Bob" Bahl, Walter "Buddie" Bahl and William "Bill" Bahl; and one sister, Henrietta "Henri" Thomas.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Al Unger of McCook; daughter, Jeannie and husband, Thomas "Tom" Milligan of Racine, Wis.; one brother, Leopold "Buss" Bahl and wife, June of McCook; two sisters, Isabelle Barnes of Vista, Calif., and Jeanne DeForest of Phoenix, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Teresa Milligan and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Milligan both of Kansas City, Kan.

Memorials may be given in her name. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 16, 2005, 2 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jerol Scholl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
