HOLDENVILLE DAILY NEWS – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1970

Services will be held Friday for Bessie Marie Taylor, Route 4, Holdenville. She died at 10:15 pm Tuesday at Holdenville General Hospital. She suffered an apparent heart attack.

She was born in Marshall, AR, Aug. 21, 1909. Mrs. Taylor was 60 at the time of her death.

Mrs. Taylor grew up in Arkansas, living there until she married E. R. “Elbert” Taylor, Dec. 3, 1925 in Arkansas. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Atwood, where they lived for 28 years. For 16 years they have lived on a farm west of Holdenville.

Survivors are her husband, E. R. of the home; one son, Kenneth R. Taylor of Moore; two daughters, Dorothy F. Crow of Route 4, Holdenville and Mary Francis Shawdah of Norman; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her father Monroe Bratton of Bell Gardens, CA; one brother, Teddy Bratton of Ft. Smith, AR; four sisters, Nina Foresman of Ft. Smith, Ruby Roach of Russellville, AR, Mary Williams of Ft. Smith and Hazel Bratton of Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday at Capitol Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Euel Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery, under direction of Hudson Funeral Home.
