Born in rural Chariton County on Aug. 25, 1912, he served in World War II attaining the rank of First Lieutenant in U.S. Navy receiving an honorable discharge. He married Catherine Hale and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2001. He was formerly associated with the Allis-Chalmer Company before retiring. Mr. Heiman was a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln, NE and a 60 year member of the Louis Priester Masonic Lodge in Dallas.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Linda Heiman of Loveland, CO and Paula and Jeanette Heiman, Crete, NE; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Cater Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Oakland Cemetery. Dr. William R. Watts officiated. Visitation began at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Cater's.
