MRS. WEBB DIES SUDDENLY
Passes Away at Her Home on Sixth Avenue Last Evening
Lettie, wife of John Ames Webb of 1055 Sixth avenue, died suddenly last night. Mrs. Webb had apparently been well and strong of late and had attended her duties about her home as usual. Two days ago she complained of suffering from earache, the pain afterwards becoming so severe she was obliged to take to her bed. Yesterday morning she became unconscious. Physicians were called, but they were unable to do anything for her, it having been discovered she was suffering from an abcess of the brain. The end came at 7:30 last evening.
Mrs. Webb has lived in Des Moines for the past sixteen years. Strange to say she died in the very room where she was married. During her life in Des Moines she had endeared herself to a large circle of friends who will mourn her death. She leaves a husband and a child. The funeral will be held from the family residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.
******
She married John Ames "James" Webb in 1885, and was survived by her husband and six year old daughter Claudine.
Lettie was preceded in death by two young children, Mell and John Earl Webb, who both died of spinal meningitis.
