KERMIT -- Ralph Ennis Dean, 84, passed away Dec. 18, 1999, at his residence in Odessa. He was born April 15, 1915, in Weatherford, Okla.

Mr. Dean was a driller in the oil industry for more than 40 years. He later rehabilitated to shoe repair and was the owner of City Boot and Shoe Repair for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2914 and an endowed member of the Kermit Masonic Lodge No. 1258, Odessa Masonic Lodge No. 955, Crane Masonic Lodge, Andy Vaughn Lodge No. 1421, the El Paso/Odessa Scottish Rite, a lifetime member of the NARA, a participant in the Ector County Fairs and a member of the First Baptist Church Over 70s group.

Mr. Dean is survived by his son, Richard Wade Dean of Kermit; daughter, Donna lrene Hopper of Midwest City, Okla.; sister, Doris Speakman of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren, Michael W. Hopper, Kathryn L. Green and Joseph W. Hopper, all of Oklahoma City, and Brent E. Wiesen of Odessa; also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home.

Masonic graveside services have been scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kermit Cemetery.
