ST. GEORGE/Heber City, Utah-- Geniel Giles Winterton, age 80, died Monday, March 4, 1996 in St. George, Utah after a courageous 43 year battle with cancer.

Born March 12, 1915 in Heber City, Utah to Noah Giles and Lila May Ahlstrom. Married Grant W. Winterton September 8, 1932 in Heber City, Utah. Marriage solemnized March 20, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died February 1, 1993, after 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Raised in Heber City, Utah where she attended Wasatch County Schools. She was a wonderful mother, a fun-loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed serving others. Active member of the LDS Church, held numerous positions, loved serving many years as a Primary teacher.

She supported her husband for many years as they farmed in Charleston, Utah. They retired and moved to St. George, Utah in 1967. She enjoyed her work for many years as a nurse in care centers and at the Dixie Hospital. She was a good neighbor who cared about everyone she knew.

Survived by three sons and one daughter: Dick (Nancy), Salt Lake, Utah; Bert (Ann), Fruit Heights, Utah; Elaine (Doug) Turner, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Rex (Carolyn), Washington, Utah; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Coleman, St. George, Utah; La Rue Adamson, Las Vegas, Nevada; and two brothers, Elvin Giles, Heber, Utah; Clarence Giles, Mesa, Arizona; preceded in death by two sisters, Ramona and Myrtle.

Viewing at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah, Sunday, March 10, 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services in St. George, Utah, Monday, March 11, 11 a.m., St. George East Stake Center, 449 So. 300 East where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Funeral services Wednesday, March 13, 12 noon, at Charleston, Utah LDS Chapel, where friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment in the Charleston Cemetery.
