Gladys Evylin[sic] Thomas, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Thomas, aged ten years, died from scarlet fever on Sunday evening after a very brief illness. The body was interred as quickly as possible and every possible precaution taken to avoid danger of contagion. The other children of the family were sent to the home of F. D. Granger as soon as it was known that the older daughter had been exposed and before the disease had time to develop. They are still there and all are perfectly well, so that there is no farther danger from the case.
