MRS. HARPER P. HOUFF
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth (Willberger) Houff, 81, of Rt. 1, Verona, died Tuesday evening (Dec. 17, 1985) in the King's Daughters' Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of New Hope, she was born Aug. 21, 1904, a daughter of the late William Henry and Sara "Lula" (Fretwell) Willberger.
She was a graduate of New Hope High School.
She and her late husband Harper Phillips Houff, were agricultural and livestock farmers in Augusta County.
Survivors include a son, Dr. William Harper Houff of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hanger of Rt. 1, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Martha Garber of Rt. 5, Staunton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband died Jan. 22, 1982, and she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Anna Lee (Houff) Meeks, on July 17, 1983.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wayne D. Hannah. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Garden.
Active pallbearers will be J. Paul Cleveland, Clyde J. Stockdale, Rudolph A. Leach, Fred D. Wills, Harper K. Phillips and James Gilbert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry O. Cleveland, Justus Allen, Kenneth S. Cleveland, William L. Garber, John L. Garber Jr., Byard E. Layman, Buddy L. Evick and Robert K. Huffman.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
