Walter married Phyllis Graesslin on Oct. 9, 1954, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Janesville.
He worked as a machinist for General Motors until his retirement on Oct. 1, 1982. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and doing various projects around the home. He loved all of his dogs throughout the years and feeding squirrels, especially "Petey". Walter loved to help people and was always thinking of others. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis of 55 years; and many extended family and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Gladys.
