Clarence Francis Fatlan, son of Erik & Bertha (Hauge)Fatland, was born Mar 13, 1909 in Gardner, Il. He had 8 siblings: Sara (1892-1964), Olie 1893-1970), Cora (1895-1955), Thomas (1897-1967), Gilbert (1900-1956), Elmer (1902-1972), Mable(1904-1923)& Albert (1905-1923). He worked as a painter and apparently never married. A resident of Lisbon, Kendall Co., Il., he died at only 34yrs old in Sycamore, Dekalb, IL on 8 Feb 1943. He was buried on the 12th in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, Grundy Co., IL.

Note: At some point after Clarence's father immigrated, he dropped the final 'd' in the surname Fatland, the last name his family chose to use when they immigrated to the USA. Fatland was the name of the farm in Norway where they were born & raised. All the descendants in Erik's line spell their last name Fatlan while his siblings & parents continued to use the original spelling Fatland.
