Eden - Herman R. Turner, 83 of Eden, died Sunday morning, July 3, 1988, at West Magic Care Center, Twin Falls.

He was born March 13, 1905 in Monticello, KY, and moved to Iowa in 1916.
He was a champion corn husker as a young man and could pick 100 bushels a day.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he operated heavy equipment in construction and in the wheat fields all over the West.

He married Nancy Matthews in 1966, in Elko, Nevada, and she died November 25, 1984.

Mr. Turner had lived in the Eden area for the past 20 years.

Surving are three brothers, Perry turner, Streator, IL., Hillard turner, Marshfield, MO, and Vernon Turner, Grinnell, Iowa; two sisters, Lexia Corwin, South Elgin, IL, and Thelma Mortenson, Mesa, AZ, a son and a daughter.

He was preceeded in death by his wife and two sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Hazelton cemetery under the direction of White Mortuary, Twin Falls.
