Margaret F. Payne

Lexington -- The funeral for Margaret F. Payne, 77, of 601 E. South St., Lexington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Lexington, the Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Musselman-Beck Funeral home, Lexington.

Mrs. Payne died at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday (April 12, 1995) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

She was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Colfax, a daughter of Alvie and Della Jones Edwards. She married William Payne Jan. 18, 1936, in Lexington. He died in April 1978.

Surviving are two daughters, Joy Baker, Lexington, and Betty Benda, Bourbonnais; three sons, Donald, Mount Carmel; and Ronnie B. and Victor, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Mrs. Payne was a member of First Baptist Church, Lexington; Lexington Order of the Eastern Star; Women's Welfare League of Lexington; and Lexington Birthday Club.

She graduated from Lexington High School in 1935.

Memorials may be made to her church or Eastern Star in Lexington.
