Virginia Suddeth Alex, Greenville

Virginia Suddeth Alex, 80, of 19 Seabrook Court, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at her residence.

Born in Simpsonville, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Hattie Belle Springfield Suddeth. She was retired from Montgomery Ward and was co-owner of Lewis Plaza Laundry. She was a member of Augusta Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mack Alex; a daughter, Pam A. Terry of Fountain Inn; a sister, Betty S. Lehotsky of Parma, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Virginia Britt Terry of Winthrop University, Rock Hill and Thomas Zachary Terry of Fountain Inn.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Grace Webb, Louise Newton and Bill Brazie; and three brothers, Thomas, Oliver B. and Ollie Suddeth [Tollie].

Memorials may be made to Augusta Road Baptist Church, 1823 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of the funeral home with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Section G.

The family is at the residence.
