FUNERAL RITES LAST SATURDAY FOR MATHIAS KASPER

The death of Mathias Kasper, one of this community's long-time residents occurred at his home here last Thursday morning at the age of 67 years.

Mr. Kasper was born in Germany on May 10, 1858, later coming to America. For a time he settled in Illinois, then coming to Guttenberg, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married at Guttenberg to Miss Agnes Gartman. His death is mourned by his widow and one son, Joseph Kasper of Guttenberg.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city last Saturday morning and interment was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Fr. Kreger conducted the funeral services.

Those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were Miss Rose Schneider of Galesville, Wis., a distant relative of the deceased and Mr. John Casanova, of Glen Haven, also a distant relative.
