She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels. She belonged to St. Mary's Altar Society in Alton, Illinois.
Katie died 6 days after her 92nd birthday at St. Anthony's Hospital.
She was survived by 3 daughters, Genarose Gearing of Alton, Charlotte Jacobs of Golden Eagle and Kathleen Donna Stroisch of Owensville, Missouri; 2 sons, Bill Hagen of Golden Eagle and Ellis Hagen of Bunker Hill, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and father, Katie was preceded in death by her husband, William; an infant daughter; 1 brother, Harry Bimslager; and 3 sisters, Mamie Hagen, Lena Cappel and Annie Donaldson.
Visitation was held on 03 Nov 1994 at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Brussels. A prayer service took place at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass was conducted at 10:30 a.m. the following morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to masses, Mount Providence Convent of St. Louis, Bells of St. Mary's Restoration Fund of Alton, St. Ambrose Catholic School in Godfrey or to the charity of one's choice.
Katie was buried next to her husband, William, who passed away in 1968.
