Note: John & Casandra's descendants, David Owings' record; sheet 1 page 1, birth Jan 27, 1838 (tombstone has "Aged 21 years", transcribed 1929, 1987 & 2005) and Carolyn (Wood) Kaeser had Jan 1838 on her "tree" (likely from descendant Lee & wife Peggy Swift, descendants of James A Wood, 1st known child of John & Casandra H Wood, whom Joe Baughman also worked with while they were alive, or maybe from James A Wood's reported genealogy report of May 1913, now lost unless Swift's son has it).

Census: 1850, age 14 in 28th district, [Harper's Ferry] Jefferson county, Virginia (becames West Virginia in 1863).

Moved west with family to Tenmile district, Harrison county, Virginia, now West Virginia, via covered wagon in 1851 along Northwestern Pike (now U S Hwy #50).

Death: in Harrison county, Virginia, now West Virginia, noted on stone; "Aged 21 years" and so transcribed in 1929, 1987 & 2005.

NOTE: Wirt is mentioned in 3/14/1938 letter by mother's younger brother George B Wood to his daughter Gertrude (GWS). Only 4-1/2 months between birth dates, he may be (?) the adopted son of Eli's 2nd wife, Dorinda.(James Alexander Wood, Frances' older brother named son Wirt in 1859)
