Francis C. "Joe" Ihli, 89, of Blairsville, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana. He was born Sept. 21, 1919 in Elizabeth, the son of the late Matt and Margaret Burd Ihli. He was a member of the SS. Simon and Jude Church, Blairsville. Joe was the former owner/operator of Ihli's Texaco Station on Rt. 217 south of Blairsville, having started in business in 1951. He is survived by his children: son, Pat and wife Molly, Blairsville, daughter, Cindy Petry and husband Barry, Altoona, and daughter, Linda Ihli, Blairsville; grandsons, Damien Petry and wife Jennie, Matt Petry, and Nicholas Carpenter; and a great granddaughter, Sarah Petry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther P. Hart Ihli in July 2008; and sisters, Anna Goodlin and Marie Cheisa. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville. A wake service will be held today at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in SS. Simon and Jude Church. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
