MADISON - Loretta Blanche McEvilly, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006. She was born on July 17, 1930, in Madison, the daughter of Gilford and Mildred (Martin) Heath.

Loretta was united in marriage to Tom McEvilly on Sept. 21, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa. She owned and operated Stroups Jewelry in Crown Point, Ind. Loretta was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Madison.

She volunteered at the VA-Hospital and her generosity was enjoyed by all. Loretta loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tom McEvilly; her children, Karen Weber of Lummi Island, Wash., Tom III (Angela) of Poynette, Susan (Peter) McEvilly Kools of San Francisco, Calif., and David (Dorothy) McEvilly of Colgate; "Pia's" grandchildren, Martha, Maxwell, Michael, Meara, and Maddie; a sister, Betty Blakely of McFarland; and a brother, Bill (Sally) Heath of Albuquerque, N.M.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Kading and Barbara Namio.

Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 322 E. Washington Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, with the Rev. Ken Smith presiding. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
