Pauline James Myers, 79, of Newport, went to be with her Lord Tuesday morning, May 6, 2003, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mae (Shropshire) James; one son, Leonard Myers Sr.; one daughter, Rosie Myers; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Jacob.

Mrs. Myers is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law: Sammy and Linda Myers, Fred and Beverly Myers Jr., and Benny and Eva Myers, all of Newport; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jeff Henderson, of Newport; one daughter-in-law, Marie Myers, of Cosby; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Viola Adams and Helen and Jim Gregg, all of Newport; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, J.B. and Ella Ruth James, of Newport, and Clarence and Rita James, of Bulls Gap; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Allene and James (Pig) Shropshire.

The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, May 7, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Fred Cagle will officiate.

Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 8, 2003, 11 a.m. at Sand Hill Cemetery.
