IRON RIVER-Marion Odgers, 88, died June 14 at Americana Healthcare Center in Kingsford.
She was born June 29, 1908 in Goss, Miss., the daughter of the late Alexander and Tally (Stringer) Davis. She graduated from high school in Mississippi and then attended the Drake Business Institute in New York. She worked in New York as a dress buyer for Macy's Department Store and had also been a fashion model. On May 1, 1942 she married Ira Odgers at Malverne, Long island, New York. The couple made their home in New Jersey prior to moving to Iron River in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband Feb. 25, 1990. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Iron River. She was also a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Iron County General Hospital Auxiliary, former member of the 20th Century Club and the Iron River Country Club and was a former Brownie Scout troop leader.
She is survived by a daughter Susan (Terry) Walker of New York, NY; a sister Eva Mae (John) Evans of Columbia, Miss.; two granddaughters, Micaela and Caitlin Walker both of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Troost, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Iron River, to officiate.
Langenberg Funeral Home of Iron River is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Ira D. Odgers of 111 Eighth Avenue, Iron River, announce the engagement of their daughter Susan Elizabeth to Terry Joel Walker, New York City. Miss Odgers is a graduate of Iron River High School and Albion College. Her fiancé is an Off Broadway director in New York City.
A December wedding is planned.
