A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late John Marion and Ada Greer Elmore, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired dye house supervisor for Greenwood Mills. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Clemson University, Class of 1942.
Survivors: A nephew, Ron N. Elmore, of Greenville; a niece and her husband, Janie and Lee Bradford, of Greenville; a nephew and his wife, Larry E. and Donna Elmore, of St. Matthews; great-nephews and niece, Graham, Ashton and Mary Elizabeth Elmore, all of St. Matthews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, William Marvin Elmore and Homer Elmore.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary. Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.
