The family moved to a farm south of Ruskin when she was a baby. She was baptized as an infant in Waterloo and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church south of Ruskin. She attended school at Nora.
She was employed at the Hardy Post Office before her marriage to Hubert L. Henry on October 15, 1924. Two sons were born to this union: Edwin Charles of McPherson, and Herbert Gene of Lincoln, Nebr. Her husband died December 26, 1986.
She was past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star, had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Harmonettes, Hardy Woman's Club, Jewel Social Circle, West Side Birthday Club and the Union Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers and sisters.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Wyatt of Hardy.
Funeral services were held September 14 at Hardy Union Church, the Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Interment was in Hardy Cemetery.
